SMS Marketing
Hello, my friend and future millionaire.
Welcome to this episode of The Money Wheel.
My name is Andrea Koput.
Today, I’m going to take us even deeper, even more detailed into marketing subjects.
We’re going to talk about two things; two of my favorite subjects.
I’m going to compare the benefits of SMS and email marketing.
Email marketing, as you know, that stuff that pings up on your phone and your feed on your desktop, on your tablet, these are your long or short messages emailed to you by all kinds of different people.
Email marketing has been around for a really long time.
It’s a very profitable and very valuable asset to use in your business.
No matter what business you are in, email marketing is really important.
Email marketing allows you to provide long detailed information to develop and hone that relationship; providing long content, telling a story, providing pictures, providing active links, and bringing people to different places.
Growing an email list is essential.
Every email is an asset.
Your emails can be used to build out advertising, to build detailed lists, and to advertise to people.
That’s email marketing.
Is there more to it?
Of course there is, but we’ll get there in the future.
But that’s email marketing.
It’s very, very critical because profits are built in the back end.
Profits are built with returning sales, returning sales come from building our relationship with people.
We’ll get you there now to the new pup in town: SMS
This is a messaging platform that has been growing at exponential rates and has click-through rates (CTRs) that are hands down higher than email marketing.
If people get an email, it’s a lot easier to ignore.
If people get a text message, it’s there, it pings.
We have been socially trained to check our SMS, to check our tech, our text messages.
Even phone calls have been corrupted by spammy messaging; autodial robot telemarketers, people don’t trust the phone numbers being called to them.
People click on their text messages faster than they answer a phone call.
I know I do.
My son texts me, I text him.
I get a ping on my phone, I open it.
I get an email, I go, ‘I’ll get to it’.
This is why SMS messaging is essential and critical to build that list.
SMS is used to continue a relationship you already have with the customer.
This is an ongoing relationship for short valuable information to be sent out of stock notices, sale notices, product launches.
These are the things in short two sentences, with a shortened link information you’re going to send to people.
SMS is critical to continuing the relationship with your customers because the click-through rate in return is a lot higher.
You need to think of your lists as completely separate entities.
Your email is one set of lists and your SMS is another set of lists.
Build them both simultaneously and treat them completely different.
They’re different babies in the business and both essential, both critical, but they cannot be treated the same.
So remember that as we’re doing this: you want to collect your phone numbers and you want to collect your email addresses. In marketing, the more tools we have in our tool pouch of awesome, the more valuable, and the more quick on your feet you’re going to be to move with the trends and move with the times.
There are no one-trick entrepreneur ponies.
You need to master and be comfortable with multiple tactics.
That’s why we’re here together.
That’s everything I have for this episode of The Money Wheel.
